Robert E. McArthur  I.C.A.D.C. (Bob) created R.E.M. Addiction Counselling and Consulting at the encouragement of community professionals who were well aware of the lack of accessible addiction resources in the Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge and the surrounding areas. These people were doctors, nurses, social workers and addiction counsellors who needed an alternative place to refer clients that did not meet their facilities or treatment centers requirements for service.

Bob's unique and passionate approach has gained him the respect of both addicts and professionals alike. This has occurred through a combination of his education, experience and his unwavering hopefulness for the future of all recovering addicts and their loved ones.
